Summer is coming and we're all trying our best to look like mermaids with abs. But even if you go to the gym 5 days a week, you won't see any result unless you combine it with a balanced diet. Indeed, if you want to actually change your silouhette, food is 80% of the work!

1. Go back to basics
When deciding what to eat, the best is to focus on the basic food like green veggies, fruit and whole grains. And let's be clear here: fruit is good for you! Some people are afraid of fruit because it's said to contain too much sugar. But here is the thing: it's natural sugar. It also contains vitamins, fibers and antioxidants, which are essential to your body.
2. Avoid the artificial
Artifical coloring or sweeteners are in a lot of our common food. So have a look at the ingredients before buying your dinner!
3. Decrease the amount of refined sugar
Sugar can affect your body is so many bad ways: bad skin, weight gain, allergies, etc. The maximum amount of sugar you can eat in a day is equivalent to 6 teaspoons (25 gr) and most of us are above that limit. Try to focus on the natural sugar instead!
4. Listen to your body
We all react differently to what we eat. Listen to what your body tells you: eat what gives you energy and what makes you feel good.
5. Treat yourself sometimes
Don't feel guilty for treating yourself from time to time. When you do an effort to eat healthy, getting your favorite rich food occasionally has a positive effect. No need to feel frustrated!
